“An Ultra-Orthodox Jewish youth carries a sack of potatoes for distribution to the needy, for the upcoming Jewish holiday of Passover, in the Mea Shearim neighbourhood of Jerusalem April 5, 2009. Passover commemorates the flight of Jews from Ancient Egypt as described in Exodus. According to the account, the Jews did not have time to prepare leavened bread before fleeing to the Promised Land. ” DayLife.com

Costin, it’s just a name for the more radical orthodox jews, it’s not just saying this particular boy is ultra.. I’ve seen many articles talk about people from Mea Shearim as ‘ultra orthodox’.. gives a better sense of how they live and learn differently from everyone else.
