Unsettled
Following the 2005 Gaza Strip evacuation in the documentary.
In the summer of 2005, Israeli’s were dealt with one of the biggest challenges they’ve had to face since becoming a free country. The government forced their own people to leave their homes and give up part of the Gaza Strip to the Palestinians.
Israeli soldiers were trained to move anyone by force if they had to. Adam Hootnick traveled to Israel to document these events; he showed the 8,000 people moving and some who refused. He put the footage together for the new film, Unsettled, which is one of many films being shown at this year’s Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival. JewReview
